EDUCATOR PREPARATION AND DEVELOPMENT

According to the plan the Educator Preparation and Development section mentions that teachers must be able develop and create new learning environments that utilizes technology where learning is a collaborative routine. These teachers must also be able to integrate technology throughout the learning cycle and throughout lesson planning. TEA has several recommendations for all districts to follow. I will discuss only the most significant ideas which includes providing professional development, establish requirements for professionals, establish initiviates for technology, and revise and update requirements annually. The first idea is providing professional development for all teacher in the area of technology. School districts throughout the state should be able to send all teacher to a technology professional development session at least once a school years. As a principal i will make it a requirement to attend a session in the summer months. The next recommendation is to establish requirements for professionals and their development in the area of technology. Teachers must be held accountable for technology as a requirement, not just a formality. The next idea is establigh an initative for technology to asssist teachers in reaching the TARGET level on the StarChart program.
